What are the richest areas in Nottingham?

Nottingham boasts a range of different diverse neighbourhoods, but there are some in particular that stand out as particularly wealthy. In order to determine which are the richest areas in the city we’ve taken a look the average house price, according to Rightmove and correct as of this article being published (Aug-24).

Here is a breakdown of each of the areas:

1. West Bridgford

In terms of average house price, West Bridgford came out top at £389,060. It’s an extremely popular and affluent suburb, which is located just South of the centre. It’s well known for it’s attractive properties with a mix of Edwardian, Victorian and more modern developments. It’s also extremely well connected with a large range of cares, restaurants and shops to choose from, whilst also mixing that well with a lot of green space and sporting venues, sprinkled with the best schools in the area, it’s pretty clear to see why the area is the most expensive.

2. Bramcote

The charming suburban village of Bramcote is next, with an average house price of £387,526, falling marginally behind West Bridgford. This area is particularly known for it’s community spirit, it sits in the Broxtowe district and is a very family orientated and peaceful area with a mix of different properties on show and a convenient location for quick access to the city centre. It’s seen as the area to choose if you want a good balance of urban and rural.

3. Wollaton

The average house price in Wollaton sits at £348,703, a small drop from the previous two places. Another highly sought after area, again in the suburbs, it’s known for it’s natural surroundings and character with the area being home to the attractive Wollaton Hall, a large Elizabethan mansion surrounding by an extensive park. It’s a particularly picturesque place with lots of walks and outdoor activities to take part in, it offers a secluded atmosphere and is seen as a particularly peaceful area – but also close enough to all the amenities and city centre.

4. Bingham

Located just East of Nottingham is the thriving market town of Bingham, and it appears 4th in our list at the average house price of £340,163. There’s a good mix of modern amenities and rural charm with it’s traditional weekly market helping it retain its historic charm and the surrounding countryside. Much like the other locations in the list, it’s a family-friendly area and boasts a good selection of shops as well as great transport links to the nearby city and towns, it’s an attractive choice for buyers looking for a good value but not wanting to be as central as some of the other areas in this list.

5. Beeston

The area of Beeston is lower on our list with an average house price of £287,039 but it is an up-and-coming affluent area with the significant transformation that it has undertaken in recent years really setting it apart as a vibrant and sought-after area. The area is diverse with a population of students, young professionals and families. The transformation included a redeveloped town centre with a modern shopping centre, restaurants and leisure facilities. It’s also a well known location for it’s thriving cultural and arts scene, but it is on the more affordable side of this list.

Where is Millionaire’s row in Nottingham?

Technically speaking the most expensive area in Nottingham is Peache Way in Chilwell Lane, Bramcote, Nottingham. The road itself boasts house prices typically over £2m, last sold in 2016 would now be valued closer to the £3m level – however, that’s not exactly the full story, as it’s one large property rented as an office building.

So what could be considered the true “Millionaire’s Row” of Nottingham? Well, it’s between the two of us.

If you want to find a road of beautiful, large, mansion-esque properties, then Beeston Fields Drive is the road to walk down. The overall average house price sits at around the £1m mark, but we think that’s a slightly lower value than it truly is due to properties not frequently being sold and valued on that road.

Dovedale Road in West Bridgford, actually boasts a higher average house price of £1.25 million with some recent properties going for over £1.5m – and if you want to have a nosey, you can see them all on Rightmove Sold House Prices. With that being said, several properties are shy of the £1m mark (not that by any means that can be considered cheap!) but as a road, it has a wider range of values.

Beeston – For young families

Due to the recent improvements in the area, Beeston is considered one of the nicest areas for young families due to its attractive prices for such an up-and-coming desirable place to live. There are loads of family activities in the area and the schools are also great.

The area sits slightly higher than most of the city and offer stunning views with a lot of green space with a strong feel of being in the countryside. It offers a high quality of life and is a popular choice for those who don’t want to live in a busy city.

Wollaton – Open space and parks

It’s a stunning town with its Deer Park, formal & botanical gardens, play areas, lakes, trails and so much more.

West Bridgford – Budget isn’t an issue

It’s simply just a beautiful place, it’s the most expensive on the list, but for good reason. Literally, everything that you would need is on your doorstep, including being the home of sport in Nottingham. The area is consistently named one of the nicest places to live in the whole of the East Midlands.

Our choice – Wollaton

If you had to pin us down to a single location, we would choose Wollaton. It’s an affluent area but offers a great mix of just about everything, making it suitable for families, professionals, and just about everyone, as well as having a good mix of open areas whilst being close enough to the city centre – it ticks all the boxes you could want.
