Like us, National Homebuyers buy houses quickly
Selling your home is one of the most stressful experiences a person can go through and deciding where to sell your home can either add to or alleviate this worry.
National Homebuyers are the original property cash buying company in the UK and have been trading for over 10 years. But who are they, and what do their reviews tell us?
In the article below we take a look at National Homebuyers and provide an overview of the company and the reviews they have received.
As this article is quite long, we've provided the interactive menu below so that you can quickly and easily navigate to the section of the article that best suits your question.
We’re honoured to have been featured in the media by several leading outlets and major publications
National Homebuyers claim that they will make a cash offer on a property regardless of condition or location.
As they are a cash buying company, they are able to complete the sale without taking the property to the open market and will be able to complete much quicker than the average buyer.
In order to form their offer, they research into the property in question including the surrounding area and amenities. National Homebuyers say that their offers will be lower than market value but there may be room for negotiation, however, they only want to purchase properties where there is a mutual benefit.
They purchase a wide range of different properties from 1-bed flats to 6-bed houses according to their website.
National Homebuyers offer a pretty straight forward service of buying your home for cash. They don’t appear to have their own selling portal and they do not explain or divulge on their website what exactly they do with the properties.
However, we advise you to do your due diligence before selling to this company. Their most recent financials in April 2024 post a cash at bank and in hand figure of £3,501, so they likely rely on external funding of some nature.
National Homebuyers offer service all across the UK, however, their main offices are based in West Sussex.
Address: Sterling House, 20 Victoria Way
City/Town: Burgess Hill
County: West Sussex
Postcode: RH15 9NF
According to their business listing on Google, their hours of operating are as follows:
Monday - Friday: 9am - 5:30pm
Weekend: Closed
National Homebuyers are registered as National Homebuyers Limited on Companies House but that one appears to be dormant, they also have another business that is registered called Momentum Asset Management Limited.
Company number 05857934 & 05261089
National Homebuyers don't provide a whole lot of detail on their website about the process and how it works, but they do boil it down to three steps, which we've highlighted for you below:
Having been around since 2006, as you might imagine, National Homebuyers have amassed a fair number of reviews, predominantly on two main platforms, Google and Trustpilot.
Here is an overview of what their customers think on both platforms:
Here are a couple of the best-known platforms where National Homebuyers reviews are present:
Platform | Reviews | Rating | Reviews below 3 stars |
---|---|---|---|
Trustpilot | 737 | 4.2/5 | 133 |
283 | 4.0/5 | 69 |
*Reviews correct as of 11/06/2025
Feedback of the service is relatively mixed; it is, however, worth noting that they do have multiple one-star reviews, particularly on Google, that mention their "unsolicited letters", which don't give a true reflection of the actual service itself.
We've pulled out three different reviews below that show a variety of experiences using the company for you to make your own judgement.
My low rating is based on couple of points :
1. The time it took NHB to make a final decision – I have spoken to a decision maker with authority, only once, and at the very end. All along the process, there has been a lack of adequate & honest communication regarding how the sale processing and when the sale will complete. Numerous excuses and conflicting messages from their rep regarding where we are in process. We have constantly been the party trying to engage with NHB on a daily basis to get an answer and how can we help to process this further or what NHB needs from us to make a final decision either way. NHB string us along more than nine months to make a final decision. This is not the quick and easy process promoted on your initial posted letter and on your website. NHB and your solicitors repeatedly delayed the process, taking weeks to complete the most simple conveyancing tasks or read/respond to documents, without any explanation and despite me/my solicitor chasing countless times. Appreciate my management team (R&R) also took their time initially but that was probably delayed things couple of weeks rather than months on end. [Click above link to read the full review]

Received a letter through the post, which stated I could reach Lisa on her direct line but when I called I was put through to [NAME REDACTED], who would’ve been more efficient if he wasn’t laughing consistently during the call. Seemed a bit unprofessional and made me want to end the call. I will wait and see what the follow up call is like.

Friendly, helpful and professional. Okay to call back with further questions for an identified person. Speedy visit from their appointed independent surveyor. Much more communicative than my estate agent.

If you’re considering using National Homebuyers, we’ve put together a list to help:
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
✔ Great reviews | ✖ Not regulated by The National Association Of Property Buyers (NAPB) or The Property Ombudsman |
✔ Claim you can sell your house within 7 days | ✖ They only cover up to £1,000 of legal fees (most competitors cover the full amount) |
✔ Guarantee to buy any home fast and hassle-free | ✖ Their website can be difficult to navigate |
As we have mentioned above, National Homebuyers aren't registered with The Property Ombudsman or NAPB. But what exactly does this mean?
The Property Ombudsman and the National Association of Property Buyers are both regulatory boards who make sure that everything is done by the book. If a company is registered with these companies, then it means you can guarantee that you are getting a good legal service and that you will be treated fairly.
Both the National Association of Property Buyers and The Property Ombudsman can investigate any claims made against the companies to make sure that they are holding up fair trading standards.
In order to make sure you get the best standard of service you should check that any company you decide to sell your property to is registered to at least one of these boards.
