Prior to joining The Property Buying Company I actually had no experience in dealing with property at all, but I’m enjoying the challenge of working in a new industry and I feel like I’m learning very quickly with the help of the wonderful team around me.

Although I’ve never worked in property, I do have experience working in several different industries over my career and I would say my ability to adapt is one of my biggest strengths. 

I’m part of the support team here at The Property Buying Company, sitting within finance and my title is Management Accountant. My day to do role includes making various payments, chasing invoices and managing our accountancy software.

When buying and selling a property there is a lot involved in terms of the management of large volumes of cash, various bills and costs. Having so many moving parts it’s essential to ensure everything is kept on track and is efficient as possible, something I am responsible for in my role.

I’m yet to have a proudest moment here, I’m new to the company so watch this space! Previously I would have to say it’s at my old company, I was there for over a year and managed to progress quickly from an assistant accountant to a financial controller – which was a really proud moment for me personally.

I’ve got to say it’s been learning how the business model here works, and trying to work with the many systems in place to ensure everything is running smoothly. Although I’ve never worked at a property company, this is a challenging one to start with, as there are several different arms that all work differently from a financial perspective – but it keeps things interesting!

Outside of work I have a husband and two girls, who are 20 & 13, and they take up the majority of my free time! We’re all pretty sports mad though, so often we’ll go out and play tennis or cricket, and when we’re at home relaxing we tend to just watch as much TV as possible!
