My name is Kirsty Rowett, and I’m the in-house solicitor at The Property Buying Company. My main role here is to provide legal advice to the company and provide conveyancing services when acting for the company in their sales.
I studied my undergraduate degree in European and International Law at the University of the West of England in Bristol, and then studied my postgraduate degree in Legal Practice at the University of Law in York.
I qualified as a solicitor in 2016 and have over 10 years’ experience in residential property law.
I thoroughly enjoy conveyancing and giving people the good news that their property has completed, and they can collect their keys, or their property has sold, and the money will be in their bank today.
There are many moments in my career that I am proud of, but being promoted into management during my career and leading teams of people has been my proudest moment to date. I enjoy nurturing people to enable their career progression.
My most challenging moment in my career to date was the covid pandemic. The property market was very volatile. Lockdown had meant that people couldn’t move house, removals were cancelled, and the market was very uncertain.
Then, when the chancellor announced the Stamp Duty Holiday to pick the property market back up again, the conveyancing industry was the busiest I have ever known.
I worked early mornings, late evenings and weekends to ensure my clients could buy their homes before the Stamp Duty Holiday ended, all whilst being pregnant. It was a difficult, challenging, but rewarding time in my career!
Outside of work I spend time with my husband, two young daughters and our crazy Frenchie, Winston. We love being in the outdoors for walks, going swimming or anything else that will tire the kids out! When I get time to myself, I love to read and I’m a keen musician and will play the piano to unwind.
3 words to describe me – reliable, kind and knowledgeable.
